Redline Rumble , Santa Pod Raceway.
Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th May 2006.
The Redline Rumble has truly established itself as one of the finest one-day modified car event in the UK . Although the weather wasn't quite as kind as in the two previous years, a full day of action took place both on track and off track.
Thousands of modified cars descended on Santa Pod from all over the UK and packed the site with beautiful show cars, and even more eye-catching ladies.

Dee failed to return from his last run to make it down to the startline in time for the semis, so Darren could have just cruised up the strip for the win. but he nailed it anyway to keep the crowd happy!
Despite Adrian Smith's new Celica going faster and faster, it was unable to compete with Andy's great reaction times and storming personal best run! Dee later repaired the car and put in some test passes, running as fast as 9.4 seconds, but sadly, he was out of the competition fair and square.

Again, Andy's great reactions and superb driving won him the race and another run deep into the 9's. The Subaru weaved up the track, but Andy's excellent skills behind the wheel and under the bonnet have proved his consistency as a driver, and the car's reliability. A big "congratulations" go out to Andy.
Off track, there was plenty more red-hot action around the Redline Live Stage, with breakdancing, beautiful Redline Babes, and of course, the highlight of the show; the wet t-shirt contest. With MC Brooklyn taking charge, the serious business of picking the girl with the nicest lady-lumps got underway, and the cloudy weather made it look a little nippy up there. which was fine by us. After some trouser-troubling deliberation, it was decided that Heidi was the grande winner, and she will be whisked off to glamorous Redline Towers for a photoshoot. Phew!
Around the Redline Live stage was the top 50 show cars: some of the finest modified cars to be featured in Redline combined with the top reader cars too. The Best of Show trophy was awarded to the stunning moody streetrace Nova of Dan Sycamore from Kent, rolling on Porsche alloys, packed with loads of trick touches and a 240bhp 2.0ltr turbo.
BUT THAT WASN'T ALL! The Santa Pod site also featured sound-off competitions, mini-moto racing, off-road buggy racing, traders, a superb drift show (thanks guys!) and of course, the hundreds of superb club cars that packed the pits. |
